Who is registered for own IP addresses?
If you as a reseller customer obtain your own IP addresses via IP-Projects, you will be registered as a contact at RIPE.
Is it possible to have an own V-LAN?
Yes, this is possible in connection with an own IP address range and absolutely free of charge.
When will the root server be activated?
The root server will be made available within 3 to a maximum of 7 working days after verification and, if applicable, first receipt of payment. This provisioning period is due to the fact that we only provide you with new server hardware as a premium root server.
Do I also get administrative rights with a managed server?
Basically, you get full access rights to the administration of the system for the server you have rented. Our team will only support you with the administration and installation of the root server's own software.
Is there a user administration with the root server web interface?
You have the possibility to create and manage co-users via web interface. You can also limit the access of the respective co-users to certain server systems only.
What kind of hardware is used?
We only use hardware from well-known manufacturers (Asus, Intel, AMD, Kingston). Especially with hard disks it is often advantageous not to fall back on cheap brands from abroad, therefore we use the product variety of Western Digital to ensure a stable and smooth server operation.
Are there any restrictions for the use of the root servers (port blocks)?
Basically, we do not impose any restrictions or limitations on our root server customers. You can use any port and what you run on the root server itself is up to you. However, you should be careful not to violate applicable law. In this case we reserve the right to temporarily block the service according to the terms and conditions.
How do I manage the root server?
You can freely manage your root server via shell console. If you wish, we can also pre-install the administration software Webmin, Plesk or similar.
Will the connection be throttled if I use too much traffic?
The connection is not throttled. You can use the full capacity of 100 Mbit/s or 1.000 Mbit/s.
Is it possible to define a maximum traffic limit?
A maximum traffic limit, at which e.g. the server shuts down, cannot be provided at the moment from a technical point of view.
Is it possible to upgrade hardware later?
Basically, we plan for later upgrades of memory or hard disks when purchasing hardware, but there is no guarantee that an upgrade is possible for every hardware component. Under certain circumstances, you may have to switch to a different, higher root server tariff for a hardware upgrade.
